VET and life-long learning perspectives."This presentation summarises insights from the BioGov.net workshop, which took place on the 29th of October 2024, and focused on advancing bioeconomy education through vocational and lifelong learning perspectives. It highlights the contributions of EU-funded projects such as Engage4BIO, Circular Bricks, and Scientix, sharing case studies, innovative teaching methods, and interdisciplinary approaches to integrate bioeconomy concepts into education. Key themes include curriculum modernization, fostering transversal skills like critical thinking and entrepreneurship, and promoting inclusivity and accessibility in education. The workshop also facilitated co-creation exercises to develop educational and policy recommendations for stakeholders, aiming to align educational initiatives with sustainable bioeconomy practices.
Practical examples include case studies like “My HandScraft,” which supports social integration through handicrafts, and training initiatives in blue bioeconomy education. The workshop emphasized collaboration among educators, policymakers, and industry to create adaptive and impactful learning opportunities. Policy recommendations encourage integrating bioeconomy education into regional strategies, supporting vocational training, and fostering inclusive, data-driven approaches for sustainable development.
