BioGov.net is set to organize an impactful EU Policy Workshop on VET (Vocational Education and Training) and Lifelong Learning, scheduled for 29 October 2024 from 15:00 to 16:30 CET in an online format. This workshop aims to bring together key educational stakeholders, policymakers, and professionals to collaboratively shape the future of bioeconomy education across Europe.

Workshop Objectives

The primary goal of the workshop is to co-design actionable recommendations. These will directly inform the revision of the European Commission’s Bioeconomy Strategy. Organized in collaboration with partners such as Engage4Bio, BIOBec, Transition2Bio, and Circular Bricks, the workshop will highlight the importance of integrating sustainable bioeconomy practices into formal and informal education systems.

Program Overview

The workshop will open with inspirational case studies from notable EU-funded bioeconomy projects, including BioGov.net, Engage4Bio, BIObec, and Circular Bricks. These case studies will offer practical insights into how bioeconomy education can be improved at different levels of education.

Following the presentations, attendees will participate in interactive discussions. The agenda includes:

  • Co-creation of Educational Recommendations: Targeted at the educational community, participants will engage in a collaborative MIRO exercise to develop strategies for both formal and informal education sectors.
  • Co-creation of Policy Recommendations: Focused on policymakers, this session will generate policy recommendations for sustainable bioeconomy education governance models, drawing on best practices and innovative policies.

This workshop provides a unique platform for attendees to actively contribute to the future of bioeconomy education and governance in Europe. It seeks to foster collaboration and generate solutions to enhance educational outcomes in the bioeconomy sector.
