What is impact assessment?
Social projects (or initiatives) play a pivotal role in addressing societal challenges, fostering development, and enhancing the well-being of communities. These projects are often driven by a social vision, aiming to create positive change in various aspects of our lives.
However, how can we ensure that they are making a real and tangible difference in the lives of individuals and communities they intend to serve? The answer lies in the practice of impact assessment.
Impact (or societal impact) refers to the effect that a particular action, project or policy has on individuals, communities, or society as a whole. Many organizations are increasingly concerned with how to measure the impact they are having on their communities, while the importance of measuring impact is increasingly verbalized in strategic reports and documents.
We, as the BioGov.net Project partners, are also placing a strong emphasis on assessing our impact, and on understanding: To what extent our project can contribute to positive change?
